Democratic Friends,

Don't be depressed next weekend as we see the Bush inauguration looming on the horizon. Instead, join local progressive group FAIR! as we host a celebration for progressive-minded people who want to be more involved in making a difference in our community. Come to FAIR!'s "inaugural" event, Get Off Your Asterisk* and Do Something, an evening of information and entertainment at the Mill on Sunday January 16th from 5 to 9 pm.

Musicians the Sharecroppers and folk duo Jesus Don't Like Killin' have generously donated their time and talents to perform.

Representatives from FAIR!, Iowans for Peace, Physicians for Sociall Responsibility, Citizens for Public Power, Johnson County Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and other social and civil liberties groups will be on hand with information about their organizations.

There is no cover charge for this event.
